Backgroud and Mission

Mission

To establish a multi-dimensional Islamic institution to serve the needs of Muslims and to instill noble values promoting love, brotherhood, harmony, peace, integrity, compassion, respect, tolerance, and mutual understanding among all members of society through education.

Background

In 1982 this mission was initiated under the guidance of the world-renowned spiritual scholar, the late Hadrat Maulana Ghulam Habib Naqshbandi (may Allah’s mercy be upon him).  Initially, Quran literacy and memorization classes for boys, as well as an introductory course for girls, were offered in a rented building.  Due to the high quality of education provided, a large number of students began to seek admission.

Due to the increasing demand for quality Islamic education, Darul Uloom Jhang was constructed in 1992 in the city center, easily accessible to all Jhang residents.  Within a few years, enrollment reached the maximum limit of 300 boarding students.

In 1994 Jamia Aisha was established in a separate building for women and girls, offering Quranic literacy and memorization classes, as well as Darse Nizami Alimah classes. Again, enrollment quickly reached the maximum limit of 450 students (300 boys, 150 girls).

In 1996 Darse Nizami classes for boys were started in an adjacent building.  One class was added each year until the building reached maximum capacity.

In 1998 all classes had reached capacity, and a number of students were placed on a waiting list.  As the months passed, this wait list continued to grow, and management was forced to search for a larger campus which could accommodate the demand of all students, both local and foreign.
